Frequently Asked Questions
Here, I address some common questions about the counselling service. If you have additional questions or need more information, feel free to reach out.
Beginning counselling
Q: What happens in the introductory session?
A: The first session is a gentle conversation about what brings you here and what you might need. There is no pressure to share anything before you are ready.

Q: Do I need to talk about everything straight away?
A: No, you set the pace. We go slowly and respectfully

Q: What if I cry or can't speak?
A: This is completely okay. Strong feelings whether grief, overwhelm, anxiety or simply not knowing where to start can show up in tears, silence, or pauses. I am here to support you through whatever arises.
What to expect in sessions
Q: How many sessions will I need?
A: Everyone's journey is different. Some people come for a few weeks; others choose longer-term support. We can review this together as we go.

Q: Do you have experience with my type of loss?
A: I have specialist training in bereavement and loss, and I also bring my own lived experience of grief. Alongside this, I work with a wide range of emotional experiences in general counselling. This combination helps me offer genuine empathy, understanding, and a grounded, compassionate approach to whatever you may be facing.
