How do we work together?
Creating the space to heal
My approach is grounded in the belief that healing begins when you feel safe, seen and supported.
At Create Space Counselling, I offer a calm, steady presence as you explore whatever you are carrying -
grief, loss, anxiety, overwhelm, or the quiet feelings that are hard to name.
Counselling is not something you have to "get right". You simply arrive as you are.
Together, we create a space where you can breathe, reflect, and begin to reconnect with yourself.
Person-centred therapy with optional creative techniques
Person-centred therapy is a therapeutic approach that primarily uses talking to focus on the individual’s experiences and feelings. It emphasizes self-discovery and personal growth through a non-judgmental, empathetic relationship with the therapist, fostering an environment of safety and acceptance.
Quite simply - you lead the pace, your feelings guide the session, you are met with warmth and without judgement, your story is held with care.

Alongside talking therapy, I offer optional creative methods such as sand tray work and art materials. These approaches can help express emotions that feel difficult to put into words, offering a different route to insight and healing. Although the creative resources are available, they are optional - you can choose to use them whenever they feel right for you.

The Sand Tray: A World of Your Own

Imagine a safe, contained space where you can build and explore your inner world without pressure or judgment. That is the essence of non-directive sand tray therapy. Using miniature objects in a tray of sand, you can create scenes that reflect your inner world. This gentle, non‑verbal method can help uncover emotions, provide distance from overwhelming feelings, and offer new perspectives.

Exploring Your Inner World with Art Materials
Using art materials in a non-directive way offers a different pathway to self-discovery and expression. In this approach, there is no expectation of artistic skill or a finished product. You are simply given the freedom to use paints, clay, pastels, or other materials to explore your emotions and experiences. I will not "interpret" what you create, the focus is on the process of creation, not the result.
